Dear Colleagues,

This is to inform you that the 5th international GATA factor symposium (GATA-V) will be held at Sendai, Japan, from November 17 to 19, 2010, and to invite you as well as your students and postdocs to attend the symposium and to present your recent work.

Since the subject matter describing events that require GATA factor activity have expanded over the last several years, we provisionally propose the following organization for the conference program. Your early advice or ideas for session organization would be appreciated.

GATA factor and early embryogenesis
GATA factor and cellular differentiation
GATA gene regulation
GATA factor and leukemia/hematopoietic stem cells
GATA factor and transcription factor complexes
GATA factor and cancer

Because of the limited financial support available to
the conference and the expense for travel to Japan,
it is hoped that all attendees will be able to absorb
much of their own expense through institutional or
other travel awards. However, we will provide some
financial assistance to all invited speakers should the
need arise.
